The Forest Service is responsible for ensuring the development of Forestry within Ireland in a manner and to a scale that maximises its contribution to national socio-economic well-being on a sustainable basis that is compatible with the protection of the environment.

The Irish BioEnergy Association (IrBEA)

Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT)

Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) carries out independent validation test of wood fuel quality on behalf of the Wood Fuel Quality Assurance Scheme. All test methods are those specified by the European Solid Biofuel Standards. The testing capacity and resources developed by WIT in testing were funded through the Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Food COFORD Forest Energy research programme.
